Here are some of the effects Obama-Care will have on folks across the country. A recent study by Wellpoint Policy Holders showed the following:
• A 25-year-old male in Milwaukee on an individual policy will see a 178% increase in cost.
• A small business in Richmond, VA with eight employees will see a 23% increase in cost.
• Insurance for a 40-year-old family with two children in Indianapolis will pay 106% more.
These increases are solely the result of Obama-Care and its strict restrictions on Insurance Companies’ underwriting and risk pooling. Look at it this way, that 230 pound, 5'6", diabetic who smokes a pack a day now gets his/her health insurance at a cost you get to pay for.
Here’s another little-known feature of Obama-Care. Remember the comparative effectiveness issue and the injection of Government into Healthcare decisions currently left to the doctor and patient? That won't last for long, once comparative effectiveness as specified by HR3965 becomes a reality.
Well those are only a couple of the new benefits from Obama-Care. I would be willing to make the prediction that as the American public becomes more and more aware of what lurks inside this legislation the decibel level of outrage will rise until even those in Washington will be forced to hear it. The water is starting to boil, and so is the blood of the American public. 2010 should prove to be a very interesting year for American’s and their healthcare.
